Pinkfong TV is a premium subscription VOD service featuring over 12,000 episodes of original content and global animations.

Design Process

As Product Design Lead, I led the entire process from problem identification to redesign and post-launch KPI tracking to address declining user numbers and revenue.

RESEARCH

Data-Driven Analysis

To reverse a downward trend in active users since 2016, I audited user behavior through data points such as subscription conversion rates, MAU, and user flows analysis.

DESIGN

Wireframe

Pinkfong TV is primarily accessed on mobile, so the interface was designed in a landscape layout to reduce friction when switching screens during video playback. Additionally, the UI focuses on visual elements rather than text, making it easier for children to use.

Curation-Focused Main Screen

Introduce a new main screen with personalized and genre-based curation to enhance content discovery.

Visual Guidelines

To enhance content visibility, I moved away from the previous over-saturated pink palette, introducing refined blue and gray tones. These updated guidelines were applied across the entire interface for a cohesive user experience.

Log in Flow

Implement a login process for tailored content, featuring a "Skip" option to minimize user drop-off.

Child-Safe Interface

Integrate a Safety Lock to prevent accidental purchases and a Timer to manage child’s screen time effectively.

Pinkfong Plus Membership

Launch a bundled subscription offering weekly original updates and full access to all interactive apps.

Marketing Materials

Pinkfong TV is mainly promoted through Pinkfong’s other apps and offline promotions, so I designed ads
on the popular interactive apps, and I conducted offline promotions, such as posters, catalogs, and
products.
